Danish Invest named best Russian equity trader

An analysis by Citywire shows that Danske Invest's portfolio manager Olga Karakozova is clearly no. 1 in Russian equities. The study shows that every year for the past five years she has outperformed her competitors.

Of the 24 portfolio managers with at least five years experience of Russian shares, Danske Invest's Olga Karakozova stands out in Citywire's study.

Olga Karakozova is a portfolio manager with Danske Capital and advises Danske Invest on investment portfolios with Russian equities, such as Danske Invest Russia A. She is a member of the team behind the Eastern Europe division. According to Citywire, Olga Karakozova is in a class of her own.

According to Citywire, over the past five years, from April 2009 to April 2014, the Danske Invest Russia A division delivered a return of 89.13 percent. While the average Russian share portfolio manager delivered 56.83 percent. Olga Karakozova's best year was in 2009/2010, when she secured for investors 9.57 percentage points more in yield than the average portfolio manager. "Every year Olga Karakozova has outperformed her competitors", writes Citywire.

Olga Karakozova is a member of the Eastern European team advising Danske Invest on investments in the region; including Russian equities. Olga Karakozova was born in Russia and has 13 years experience in the financial sector. She has a PhD in finance and spends her day in Danske Capital's office in Finland.

Some of the largest Russian investments in Danske Invest's Russian equities portfolio are the supermarket chain Magnit and the oil and gas producers Lukoil and Gazprom.
